The Union Catholic girls tennis picked up a big win on Monday afternoon at Kramer Manor Park, defeating a strong Johnson team 4-1 to improve to 6-5 on the season.
The Vikings controlled the match from the start, winning four out of five flights with commanding performances in both singles and doubles play.
In first singles, Danielle Chuy cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Gianna Olas, while Elizabeth Adegboyega followed with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at second singles. Johnson earned their lone point at third singles, where Victoria Martino defeated Taylor Sesely 6-1, 6-1.
Union Catholic's doubles teams were nearly flawless. Sonia Allen and Caroline Cleaveland dominated first doubles 6-1, 6-1, and Dulce De Ocampo and Bella Rose Lin swept second doubles 6-0, 6-0.
With the win, Union Catholic hands Johnson (7-2) just their second loss of the season and builds momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
