UC girls tennis team wins second straight match
The Union Catholic girls tennis team continued its strong play with a convincing 4-1 win over Roselle Park on Friday afternoon at Kramer Manor Park in Scotch Plains, marking its second straight victory and improving its record to 5-3 on the season.
With the victory, UC swept the season series vs. Roselle Park, 2-0.
The Vikings were led by solid performances throughout the lineup, capturing wins in four of the five matches, including both doubles and two of three singles matches.
At 2nd Singles, Elizabeth Adegboyega played a steady match, earning a straight-sets win over Alejandra Alston, 6-2, 6-4. Ella Moritz had another strong showing at 3rd Singles, defeating Brenda Teodoro 6-2, 6-2 to help build momentum for Union Catholic.
In doubles action, the Vikings showed depth and resilience. The 1st Doubles duo of Sonia Allen and Caroline Cleaveland battled through a tight super-tiebreak to defeat Maya Konczynski and Tanisi Dudani, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (12-10). At 2nd Doubles, Dulce De Ocampo and Bella Rose Lin delivered a dominant performance, winning 6-2, 6-0.
