Union Catholic narrowly defeated South Plainfield 100-99.4 on Tuesday, improving the Vikings' record to 6-4 with a balanced team effort across all events.

Lorena Fajardo led the way for Union Catholic with a team-high all-around score of 34.35, while Aubrey DelCorsano added 33.1 and Sarah Donnelly contributed 32.2.

Union Catholic displayed particular strength on vault and beam. Fajardo posted a 9.0 on vault, followed by DelCorsano at 8.75 and Donnelly at 8.55, giving the Vikings a critical edge. On beam, Fajardo again led with 8.6, complemented by Gabriella Contreras (8.35), Donnelly (8.15), and DelCorsano (8.0).

The bars event was tightly contested, with DelCorsano scoring 8.1 and Fajardo 8.05, while South Plainfield's Riccardo scored 8.35. On floor exercise, Fajardo again led UC with 8.7, and DelCorsano added 8.25, helping the Vikings maintain their slim advantage as the meet concluded.

Union Catholic's depth and consistency across all four events proved decisive in this nail-biter, allowing the team to secure the victory over a strong South Plainfield squad.
