Adrian Rojas made a huge impact in his Union Catholic debut.
The senior had two hits, including an RBI double, scored a run and struck out the side in the seventh inning to earn the save and preserve a 5-3 victory for the Vikings over Johnson on Friday afternoon in Scotch Plains.
The Vikings are now 5-4 overall and 3-1 in the Mountain Division.
Nick Pellegrino earned the victory on the mound for UC, allowing just three hits over 5.1 innings.
Offensively, freshman
Brayden Morrison had three hits, scored a run, knocked in a run, and stole two bases,
Chris Wilson had two hits and scored a run,
Ryan Bevensee had two hits and drove in a key run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Vikings a 5-3 lead, and
Mike Pellegrino knocked in a run.
