UC volleyball team sweeps Elizabeth

On the road Monday afternoon in Elizabeth, the Union Catholic volleyball stayed hot with a dominant 2-0 sweep, marking their third straight win and improving to 9-4 on the season.

It was the second time this season the Vikings have defeated Elizabeth in straight sets, showcasing their consistency and control on both sides of the ball. UC took the first set 25-19, then closed out the match with a 25-20 win in the second.

Alyssa Kenol led the offensive attack with 12 kills and 4 blocks, while Alex Landazabal anchored the floor with 16 assists, 5 digs, and 5 kills of her own. Sienna Mabee contributed all over the court with 5 kills, 6 digs, and 2 aces, and Hannah Buniak was a spark at the service line with 4 aces.

Union Catholic's balanced play and strong teamwork proved too much for Elizabeth (7-7), who struggled to counter the Vikings' depth and execution.

UC now rides into next matchup on Tuesday at Montville with momentum, having swept three straight opponents and continuing to build on a strong mid-season surge.
