Union Catholic continued its strong play with a straight-set victory over Watchung Hills, 25-15, 25-21, on Wednesday to improve to 14-6 overall and 9-3 in the Union County Conference–Watchung Division. The win marked the Vikings' third straight victory as they prepare for the postseason.
Senior setter Alex Landazabal, the school record holder in assists, once again set the tone for the Vikings, recording 7 assists, 5 digs, and 4 aces in the win.
Alyssa Kenol led the attack with 6 kills and 2 blocks, while Ayla Burke added 4 kills, and Sienna Mabee contributed 3 kills and 6 digs. Sabrina Capati tallied 7 assists and 4 digs, and Mia Taylor served up 2 aces as UC controlled play throughout the match.
Union Catholic, the defending Union County Champion and this year's No. 2 seed in the upcoming Union County Tournament, will return to action on Monday at home against Dayton for Senior Day.
