The Union Catholic volleyball team improved to 7-4 on the season with a straight-set sweep over Monroe on Tuesday in Scotch Plains.
The Vikings closed out the first set strong to win, 25-21, and controlled the second set, winning winning 25-19.
Senior Alyssa Kenol led the charge at the net, tallying 7 kills and 6 blocks, and Union Catholic's offense ran smoothly through Sabrina Capati, who dished out 12 assists and added a service ace. On defense, Sienna Mabee posted a team-high 7 digs, while Ayla Burke chipped in with 4 kills and 4 digs of her own.
The Vikings also saw contributions from Mia Taylor, who recorded 2 aces, and Melanie DeWitt, who added 2 kills and a block.
