Union Catholic continued its strong run through the regular season with a dominant 2-0 sweep over East Brunswick (3-10) on the road Friday, winning in straight sets, 25-10, 25-15.
The Vikings came out firing in the first set, setting the tone with sharp serving, consistent defense, and aggressive net play. That momentum carried into the second set, as they closed out the match efficiently and decisively.
Alyssa Kenol led the offensive charge with 8 kills and 2 blocks, while Sienna Mabee anchored the back row with 6 digs and chipped in 4 kills. The setting duo of Alex Landazabal and Sabrina Capati kept the offense fluid and balanced, recording 9 assists apiece. Landazabal now has 991 assists in her career!
Union Catholic also got key contributions from Ayla Burke (6 kills, 3 digs) and Melanie DeWitt (4 kills), helping the Vikings maintain control throughout both sets.
Now 12-6 on the season, the Vikings aim to carry this momentum into a big matchup at home this Monday vs. with county rival Gov. Livingston.
