Union Catholic struck for three goals in the opening half and rode a stellar defensive effort to a 3-0 victory over Roselle on Tuesday in Scotch Plains.
Jack Spagnolo had a standout performance, scoring once and adding an assist for a 3-point game. Harrison Manousos and Joey LeTourneau each added goals, as three different players found the back of the net to showcase the Vikings' balanced attack.
In net, Ryan Farago came up big with 6 saves to preserve the shutout, which marked Union Catholic's second clean sheet of the season. The Vikings' back line was equally sharp, keeping Roselle from generating quality chances.
With the win, Union Catholic (3-4-2) continues to build momentum and confidence as they push toward the midpoint of the season.
