Senior Cameron Kelly added to her amazing softball resume by surpassing 400 career strikeouts when she helped lead the Vikings to a very impressive 15-2 victory over Bound Brook in the final home game of the season on Monday in Scotch Plains.
Kelly, a senior, struck out six batters in the five innings to raise her career total to 401 strikeouts. Earlier this month, Kelly recorded the 100th hit of her career and pitched a perfect game.
UC exploded for eight runs in the first inning on Monday to give Kelly all the support she needed.
Jules Hart and
Aniya Fleming each homered to lead the offensive explosion for the Vikings.
Hart had three of the 12 hits for UC and drove in four runs and scored twice. Fleming drove in two runs. Kelly had two hits and an RBI, and
Emma Kaminski drove in a run. Also for UC,
Hannah Buniak had two hits and scored twice, and
Bella Donnelly and
Sienna Parker scored two runs.
