The Union County boys tennis team made history by clinching the Valley Division title of the Union County Conference with a 3-2 victory over Johnson at Kramer Manor Park in Scotch Plains.

It's the first time in UC history that a boys tennis team has captured a divisional championships.

The Vikings swept the singles matches as senior star Shaan Trehan, Ryan Bokina, a freshman with unlimited potential, and Andrick Charles, a rock steady sophomore, all won, 6-0, 6-0.

UC is now 7-0 in the Valley Division and 9-5 overall.

UC coach Rick LaBelle praised the work ethic of his team after the historical achievement.

"It's a great privilege to have such a hard working team that's put so much effort into ths season be able to achieve this moment for the tennis program,'' said LaBelle.
