UC boys tennis team makes history by winning its first division title ever

The Union County boys tennis team made history by clinching the Valley Division title of the Union County Conference with a 3-2 victory over Johnson at Kramer Manor Park in Scotch Plains.

It's the first time in UC history that a boys tennis team has captured a divisional championships.

The Vikings swept the singles matches as senior star Shaan TrehanRyan Bokina, a freshman with unlimited potential, and Andrick Charles, a rock steady sophomore, all won, 6-0, 6-0.

UC is now 7-0 in the Valley Division and 9-5 overall.

UC coach Rick LaBelle praised the work ethic of his team after the historical achievement.

"It's a great privilege to have such a hard working team that's put so much effort into ths season be able to achieve this moment for the tennis program,'' said LaBelle.
