Sot and Parker's power propel UC softball team to 5th straight win

Jessica Sot and Caroline Parker, who each homered and combined for seven runs bated in, ignited the Union Catholic softball team to an 11-1 road victory over Roselle on Wednesday for its fifth straight win.

Union Catholic, now 9-1 under first-year coach AJ Bonadies, was locked in a 1-1 tie until the Vikings exploded for 10 runs in the fifth inning to win the game. Sot delivered a grand slam and Parker also homered and drove in three runs during the 10-run uprising. Also in the pivotal fifth inning, Sarah Potts knocked in 2 runs and Aniyah Fleming drove in a run.  

UC pitcher Lilah Reidy struck out eight and allowed just one hit in the complete-game victory.

The Vikings will seek its sixth straight victory and 10th of the season on Friday at Kent Place at 4 p.m.
