The Union Catholic volleyball bounced back in a big way Thursday afternoon, defeating Kent Place in three sets (25-22, 20-25, 25-18) on the road in Summit. The victory snapped a two-match losing streak for the Vikings, who had suffered tough losses earlier in the week to Westfield and Gov. Livingston.

Alyssa Kenol led the offense with 10 kills and 4 aces, while Alex Landazabal filled the stat sheet with 8 kills, 8 assists, 4 digs, and 2 aces. Sabrina Capati directed the attack with 13 assists and added 5 digs and 3 aces of her own. Sienna Mabee and Maria Gialanella anchored the defense with 6 and 4 digs, respectively.

After taking a tight first set 25-22, the Vikings dropped the second 25-20, but responded with a dominant third set to close out the match. Union Catholic finished with 24 kills, 21 assists, 24 digs, and 12 aces as a team.

With the win, Union Catholic improves to 6-2 on the season.
