Pankratz scores epic game-winner for UC boys soccer squad
Senior Gavin Pankratz delivered an electrifying and stunning game-winning strike with under 20 minutes remaining, lifting Union Catholic to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Brearley on Thursday in Scotch Plains.
With the score knotted at 2-2, Pankratz produced one of the most improbable and head-spinning goals you'll ever see to put UC ahead to stay as the Vikings evened their record at 2-2.
In the first half, Quincy Pearson scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season for UC, continuing his strong attacking form. Santiago Wilson also added a goal, while Kevin DeFreitas-Lee and Lucas Silva provided assists to complete a balanced offensive effort.
In goal, senior Ryan Farago made seven crucial saves, helping preserve the lead and secure the win for the Vikings.
