The Union Catholic volleyball team came up with a dominant performance in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Non-Public A Tournament on Friday, sweeping Donovan Catholic in straight sets (25–15, 25–23, 25–17).in Scotch Plains.
The win in their final home match of the season earned the Vikings a spot in the semifinal round where they'll face top-seeded and undefeated Paul VI, currently ranked No. 2 in New Jersey, this Tuesday.
With the victory over Donovan Catholic, Union Catholic improved to 20–8 and showcased a complete team effort across the board.
- Alyssa Kenol led the attack with 13 kills, 2 blocks, and 2 aces.
- Ayla Burke and Sienna Mabee each added 7 kills to power the Vikings' offense.
- Sabrina Capati directed the offense with 15 assists and 3 aces, while Alex Landazabal filled the stat sheet with 14 assists, 8 digs, and 4 aces.
- As a team, UC totaled 33 kills, 45 digs, 29 assists, and 13 aces in the victory.
