The Union Catholic girls soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to seven straight matches with a 1-0 victory over Kent Place on Saturday afternoon. The win improved the Vikings to 9-2-1 overall and 6-0-1 over their last seven contests.
The game's only goal came in the 18th minute when sophomore Sophie Peterson scored off an assist from goalkeeper Rylee Curtis, who helped set up the play with a booming pass from the defensive end. Peterson now has a team-leading 11 goals this season.
Curtis also anchored the defense with another stellar performance in goal, recording her fourth shutout of the season as the Vikings held Kent Place (5-3-1) scoreless.
