The Union Catholic softball team, behind the strong pitching of
Lilah Reidy, continued its hot start to the season when the Vikings defeated Bound Brook, 6-3, on Saturday at Tea Street Field in Bound Brook.
The Vikings, now 3-0, broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the fourth inning, and Reidy silenced the Bound Brook bats over the final four innings to secure the victory.
Reidy, a sophomore, allowed just two earned runs, and struck out four in the complete game victory.
Isabella Cruz,
Jules Hart, Cameron Kelly, and
Deyalyn Sosa all knocked in a run for Union Catholic, and Hart and
Sarah Potts each had two hits for the Vikings.
