Henry Hiel fired a 37 to help spark the Union Catholic golf team to its first victory of the season on Thursday when the Vikings defeated New Providence, 164-188, at the Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth.

The Vikings, now 1-2 on the season, also received strong rounds from Kate LaBarge (41), Brooke LaBarge (42) and Kurtis Blouin (44).

UC will back in action on Monday vs. Cranford at 3:15 p.m. at the Echo Lake Country Club.
