Wood and Winchester lead UC basketball team to victory vs. North Star Academy
Terrance Wood and
Keyshawn Winchester combined for 29 points to help the Union Catholic boys basketball team snap a three-game skid with a dominating 64-45 victory over North Star Academy in the consolation game of the Paterson Charter Tournament on Wednesday.
Wood, a junior forward led the way with 16 points for the Vikings, who evened their record at 3-3. Winchester, a senior guard, scored 13 points for UC.
The Vikings, who jumped out to a 16-7 first quarter lead, also received 11 points from sophomore forward
Yaw Ansong, and 10 from
Javon McKay, who buried two three-pointers.
Union Catholic will be back in action this Tuesday when the Vikings host Plainfield at 7 p.m.
