Union Catholic dominates the All-County and All-Conference Cross-Country Teams
Union Catholic, led by Runner of the Year
Shane Brosnan and Coach of the Year
Mike McCabe, dominated the All-Union County and All-Union County Conference All-Star teams that were chosen by the Union County coaches.
All seven runners on the Union Catholic boys varsity squad, the No. 1 ranked team in the state, were chosen to at least one all-star team, and five members of the girls team were chosen.
The Harvard-bound Brosnan was named Union County Runner of the Year and was named to the First-Team All-County and All-Watchung Division teams. Brosnan won the Union County title with a Warinanco Park course record 15:28, finished first at the State-Non-Public A Championships, placed third at the Meet of Champions in 15:22, a Union County record for Holmdel Park, and placed third at the Eastbay Northeast Regional Championships to qualify for the National Championships on Dec. 11 in San Diego.
McCabe was chosen as the Boys Coach of the Year after leading the Vikings to its greatest season ever and one of the best in state history this fall. Under McCabe, the Vikings broke the course record averages when they won the Union County and Union County Conference championships, and captured the Non-Public A and Meet of Champions titles each for the first time ever as UC finished the season as the No. 1 ranked team in the state for the first time ever. At the Meet of Champions, Union Catholic averaged 16:01, the second fastest ever at historic Holmdel Park.

Caudell Cajuste were all named First-Team All-County and All-Watchung Division, junior
Ryan Cichocki was chosen Second Team All-County and First Team All-Watchung Division, freshman
Evan Weber was named Second Team All-County and Honorable Mention All-Watchung Division, and sophomore
Josh Hunsinger was selected Honorable Mention All-Watchung Division.
On the girls side, junior
Kaleigh Gunsiorowski completed her amazing rookie season on the trails by being named to the First-Team All-County and All-Watchung Division teams, Maameya Nyinah was chosen Second Team All-County and First Team All-Watchung Division,
Abby Granrath and
Leilani Gibson were selected Second Team All-County and Honorable Mention All-Watchung Division, and
Jenna Keith was named First Team All-Watchung.
