Dan Nocera won another dramatic come from behind match vs. Elizabeth on Wednesday
Dan Nocera did it again.
Earlier this month, Nocera fought off 10 match points against Elizabeth's Andre Torres before rallying to win a thrilling three-set match at first singles to give the Union Catholic boys tennis team a 3-2 win over Elizabeth at Kramer Manor Park in Scotch Plains.
In the rematch on Wednesday, Nocera was on the ropes once again vs. Torres with the outcome of the match hanging in the balance.
This time, Nocera staved off three match points and rallied for a 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 victory over Torres at first singles to give the Vikings another 3-2 victory over the Minutemen at Kramer Manor to snap a five-match losing streak.
And just like in the first meeting vs. Elizabeth, UC picked up victories from
John Mintel at third singles (6-1, 6-4) and from the Abood brothers (Gabe and Ben) at first doubles (6-4, 6-1).
