Mr. Jim Reagan Sr. will be honored by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick on March 15
UC Athletic Director Mr. Jim Reagan Sr. to receive Community Service Award

Mr. Jim Reagan, Sr., the Athletic Director at Union Catholic, will be honored with the Community Service Award by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Union County at a special dinner on Thursday, March 15 at the Grand Summit Hotel.
Steeped in tradition and history, the Union County Chapter of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, which was established in 1962, was founded on a commitment to benevolence and volunteerism. It performs these duties in the form of scholarships and through events and activities.
Mr. Reagan is honored to be the recipient of such a prestigious award.
"To be recognized by an organization for your work within the community is always a good thing, especially when you are recognized for work that you consider your passion,'' said Mr. Reegan. "To have people recognize you for doing something you love is quite an honor.''
Mr. Reagan has built a very impressive resume since he began his teaching career in 1969 at St. Elizabeth's school in Linden where he taught science and math, and coached both baseball and basketball.
After 14 years at St. Elizabeth's, Mr. Reagan started his career at Union Catholic in 1983, where he was the librarian and head of media services, and served as the basketball coach and the assistant Athletic Director.
In 1997, Mr. Reagan became the Athletic Director at UC. During Mr. Reagan's years as the Athletic Director at Union Catholic, the school has had an Olympian (Sydney McLaughlin), four National Players of the Year, five State Players of the Year, and numerous All-American, All-State, All-County, and All-Conference Players of the Year.
Union Catholic's remarkable run of success under Mr. Reagan's tenure includes 67 conference championships, 50 county titles, 19 state championships, and numerous sectional championships, including the first sectional title for the bowling team in school history this winter.
Also during Mr. Reagan's time at Union Catholic, the Vikings expanded its athletic programs and now sponsor 20 varsity sports, and the indoor and outdoor sports facilities have been upgraded.
In 2010, Mr. Reagan was inducted into the Linden Hall of Fame.
