UC's boys basketball team falls to N.J. No. 1 ranked Roselle Catholic

Ibn Lynn led the Vikings with 15 points

Union Catholic's brutal schedule continued on Sunday night when the Vikings were upended by Roselle Catholic, ranked No 1 in N.J. and No. 21 in the nation  85-50, in the Metro Classic Tournament at Kean University in Union.

UC, which has a schedule filled with several teams ranked in N.J. Boys Basketball Top 20, ran into a Roselle Catholic team that was coming off a heartbreaking 60-59 loss to No. 1 nationally ranked Montverde Academy of Florida on Friday.

RC (18-4 on the season) jumped out to a 25-14 first quarter lead vs. Union Catholic and had a 45-27 lead at halftime.  

UC, which came into the game having won six of its last seven games, was led by Ibn Lynn's 15 points. Freshman Isaiah Hill added nine points and Amir Britt scored seven for the Vikings. 

The Vikings will bve back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Summit at 7 p.m. in the second round of the Union County Tournament. UC defeated Oratory, 61-42, in the first round  of the UCT on Saturday at Union Catholic.

If UC defeats Summit, the Vikings would advance to the quarterfinal round this Friday at a neutral site that has yet to be determined.
