Mike Walch

Mike Walch, who has coached soccer at just about every possible level over the span of four decades, is in third second season as head coach of the girls soccer program. Prior to 2023, he served as the boys' JV coach at Union Catholic.

Walch, a goalkeeper at Union Catholic (Class of 1975) and at Susquehanna University, has coached soccer at just about every possible level over the span of four decades. 

He was the JV boys' soccer coach at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School from the mid 1980's to mid 90's, coaching under Tom Breznitsky, SPF's legendary varsity boys' soccer coach. Walch won three JV county titles and reached the county final six is other times during his years at SPF. Several of his former players went on to become All-State players and successful coaches.   

Walch also coaches for the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Soccer Club, and currently coaches a U15 (under 15 girls' team), and is the goalkeeper director for the club.
