UC volleyball team defeats Summit in 2 sets
The Union Catholic girls volleyball team improved to 2–0 on the season with a commanding straight-set victory road win over Summit (25–22, 25–15) on Thursday.
After a tightly contested first set, Union Catholic pulled away in the second with aggressive serving and consistent defense, sealing their second win of the season without dropping a set.
Union Catholic's balanced attack featured contributions from across the roster. Alex Landazabal led the team offensively with 4 kills and 6 service points. Alyssa Kenol was a force at the net, recording 3 kills, 4 blocks, and 3 aces. Sienna Mabee added 7 digs and 2 kills to bolster the defense.
Libero Maria Gialanella anchored the back row with 8 digs and a team-high 4 aces, keeping Summit's offense off balance throughout the match.
