Altobelli and Moore lead UC boys over Linden
Union Catholic broke open a tight game with a huge fourth quarter as the Vikings, ranked No. 8 in the state, defeated Linden, 51-37, at the Citizens Bank Scholarship Games at Kean University on Sunday in Union.
Clinging to a 31-29 lead entering the fourth quarter, the Vikings outscored Linden, 20-8 to put the game away and improve to 11-6.
Freshman guard Malik Moore posted 20 points to lead the Vikings and AJ Altobelli scored 11 for UC.
Luke Schorr, who had five points for UC, and Altobelli are closing in on the 1,000-point mark for their careers. Schorr needs seven points and Altobelli 14 to hit that magic number.
It's possible they could both score their 1,000th point on Tuesday night at Elizabeth.
