Sot, Cruz, Kelly homer and Reidy is sharp on mound to spark UC softball team to big opening day win

Isabella Cruz, and Cameron Kelly all homered and
Lilah Reidy kept the Roselle Catholic bats quite when the Vikings opened its softball season with a 22-0 victory on Monday in Roselle.
The victory marked the first career win for first-year head coach AJ Bonadies, a 2016 graduate of Union Catholic.
Union Catholic led 6-0 when the Vikings exploded for 16 runs in the third inning.
The 19-hit attack was led by Sot, Cruz and
Caroline Parker, who each had three hits, and
Hannah Buniak,
Deyalyn Sosa, and
Jules Hart
Sot finished with five runs batted in, four runs scored, and she stole three bases. Cruz knocked in four runs and scored three times, Buniak had two hits and drove in four runs, Kelly had two hits and two RBI, Hart had two hits, two RBI, and three runs scored.
Reidy struck out eight and allowed just two hits to earn the victory on the mound.
