Reidy, Hart, Sot, Cruz lead UC softball team to state tournament victory
Lilah Reidy pitched a five-hitter with five strikeouts and didn't allow an earned run to help lead eighth-seeded Union Catholic to a 4-1 win over ninth-seeded Our Lady of Mercy in the first round of the South Jersey, Non-Public A Tournament on Thursday in Scotch Plains.
Isabella Cruz drove in two runs, and
Jessica Sot and
Jules Hart each hit solo home runs for Union Catholic.
The Vikings will play top-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas in the quarterfinal round on Monday at 4 p.m. in Edison.
