Reidy throws 3-hitter, Magliacano homers in UC's big win over Westfield
Lilah Reidy pitched another strong game and
Olivia Magliacano belted a home run to spark the Union Catholic softball team to a big 4-2 victory over Westfield on Wednesday in Scotch Plains.
Reidy, a freshman who hurled a no-hiiter vs. New Provicence last week, allowed just three hits and one earned run, and struck out four as the Vikings improved to 2-6. Union Catholic has now won two of its last three games
UC broke a scoreless tie when Reidy singled in a run and
Deyalyn Sosa doubled in two runs in a three-run second inning. After Westfield (4-5 on the season) cut the deficit to 3-2, Magliacano, who finished the game with three hits, hit her third homer of the season in the sixth inning to close out the scoring.
