UC Cheer Squad Finishes First At Randolph Rampage Competition
The Union Catholic varsity cheer squad, competing in its first competition in several years, won the Universal Cheerleaders Association Large School Varsity Division and senior Beatriz Montero was a finalist in the Jump-Off at Sunday's Randolph Rampage Cheer Competition at Randolph High School.
The team performed a 2 minute and 30 second traditional cheer & music routine, which incorporated a cheer, stunting, dance, jumps, and tumbling.
The judges commended the team for: clean formations and placements during the routine, difficulty of jumps, effectively leading the crowd during the cheer, skill execution during the cheer, technique during partner stunts and pyramid in the music portion, and overall category impression during the music portion.

Rebecca Rotondo praised the way her team performed.
"I am so proud of all they've done to perfect this routine over the season,'' said Coach Rotondo. "They've gone above and beyond to represent the school at this competition. This is the first competition that UC Cheer has entered in many, many years. We are excited to resume competitive cheer at UC, and to bring new and exciting routines for our fans.''
